Our Top 10 Holiday Gifts

I sat down and compiled my top 10 sure-fire gift ideas for the holiday season to make your search just a little bit easier. They are straight from the heart and leave plenty of room for personalizing.

1 - Coffee Table Books

When someone asks the question - “what is something they would probably never buy themselves” - the answer may be a book. With gorgeous renditions compiled for every topic, there is sure to be something to be found for anyone on your list. Two of my personal favourites are interior design and cookbooks.

2 - Good Looking Games

One of my most treasured past times is playing games with my family. Everything from classics like chess and cards (Euchre anyone?) to the trending board game of the year, count me in! I love seeing so many options now that are well designed and can be kept out at all times to encourage having a little fun.

3 - Specialty Beverages

Whether its a high end bottle of wine or just a well designed can of sparkling water, specialty beverages are another one of those things we won’t often buy for ourselves. I love to bring a cool new bottle of wine or a collection of craft beers and ciders (alcoholic and non) along with me to any event as a host gift.

4 - Cool Candles

For those of us who love candles, we really love them and can never have enough. I burn candles every single day and love to try out new scents and styles. I love gifting taper candles along with holders for a thoughtful and ‘put-together’ gift idea.

5 - Creative Magazines

Many art & design magazines only release new issues once or a few times a year and they cost a pretty penny. These are lovely stocking stuffers for the person in your life who thrives on conceptual and novel ideas in the creative arena.

6 - Tabletop Fire Bowls

It may be number 6 on the list but it’s my FAVOURITE GIFT OF THE YEAR. Maybe I love these because I love campfires, candles and fireplaces so much. Give me a cozy fire in every format possible, please and thank you. The perfect idea for just about anyone that they likely don’t own already.

7 - Levelled-Up Everyday Home Goods

It’s easy to get caught in the hustle and bustle of life and just keep re-stocking your everyday home essentials from a big box store. It’s SO nice every once in a while to try something special that you wouldn’t normally have on hand or think to replace.

8 - Throw Blankets

If you’ve never cozied up under a throw blanket then we can’t be friends. Everyone needs one (or ten) and no one will complain about receiving one as a gift.

9 - Serveware

I don’t know about you, but whenever I have guests over I wish I had just a few more options when it comes to serving platters, bowls and the like. Again, not something we typically think to buy for ourselves but lovely to receive as a gift!

10 - Local Gourmet Foods

Last but not least, local foods. Every year someone on my list gets a box, basket or gift bag of my favourite local, organic or gourmet foods. I love visiting the farm market nearby and the organic section in the grocery store to find unique and yummy items for someone to try.

I hope this gives you some fresh ideas for your gift giving this season and all year round. These are tried, tested and true. Everything here also makes a great year round gift for hosts, showing your appreciation or just because!

Happy shopping!
